Cf. See Water Dreaming, 1971-72 in Sotheby's Aboriginal Art, 31 July 2006, Melbourne, lot 73; for a discussion of Water Dreaming paintings by the artist, see Bardon, G. and J. Bardon, Papunya, A Place Made After the Story: The Beginnings of the Western Desert Painting Movement, The Miegunyah Press, Melbourne, 2004, p.204
This painting is sold with Stuart Art Centre documentation which includes the artist's name, title, registered number and an annotated diagram. The diagram suggests that the concentric circles represent the camps of men, the meandering lines are running water and the curved shapes are men scattered around the area because of rain.
