    Bears Church Missionary Society, Groote Eylandt Aboriginal Mission, NT, label on the reverse which reads: "With 15b./ 16b Like a double picture. The wife tells little boy to pull the dog away. Then the pelicans come back and live on him. After a while feathers stick to the man. He becomes a bird and flies away."

Condition

The paintings are in very good condition for works of this period and region with the colours of the pigments being strong and relatively little pigment missing. There does not appear to be any repaurs or restoration. Both paintings have small holes in the top corners where they have been suspended using fishing line and have minor fraying around the edges and minor scuffs, scratchs and hair line cracks.
