- Length: 70 cm
carved in hardwood of elongated ovoid form, this early and exceptional example engraved with fluted designs divided into three sections to form a zig-zag motif infilled alternately with red and white pigment, the reverse undecorated with elegantly carved loop handle, old, glossy patina overall

Reputedly collected at Marble Bar, Western Australia in 1925 by Mr Noel (Neville) Westwood, a 22 year old medical missionary who was said to have been the first person to travel around Australia in a car

The wunda shield is in very good condition overall. There are two small chips on the edges of the shield that should be visible in the catalogue illustration. No visible repairs or restoration.
