  • Length: 84.5 cm
of leaf-like form tapering to two flattened, flaring rectangular points at each end, pierced twice near the centre for the attachment of a handle, the convex front with deeply incised, linear, zig-zag and lozenge motifs divided into three sections by two undecorated bands, the undecorated reverse with roughly hewn marking, dark shiny patina overall

Condition

The broad shield is in good condition with no visible repairs or restoration. Teh surface has possibly been varnished or lacquered.
