Catalogue Note

'Manoongoo (anthills) are all around my country. In the Ngarrangkarni (Dreamtime), one old woman put wanggiri (edible larvae) on an ant bed for the men to eat. Two young boys came along and ate half each. The old people were out hunting and saw a storm coming up. They knew something was wrong in the camp. They went back to see what was wrong. Galaroo the rainbow serpent killed everyone. He was angry that the boys had eaten the wanggiri.' 'This is the Law. Young people cannot eat wanggirr, only old people can.'
