Catalogue Note
This painting is sold with a photocopy of the original Red Rock Art documentation that reads in part: "This work shows country near Mulan Community at Lake Gregory. Sugarbag is the term used to describe bush honey. In the desert regions south of Halls Creek in W.A. a number of plants provide a nectar when flowering. One such plant a small Grevillia, flowers profusely after the wet season and each flower drips with nectar which can be eaten directly from the plant. A recent trip from Emu Creek (where the artist lives) to Lake Gregory inspired this work."
