- Lengths: 69 cm, 76.3 cm, 72.3 cm
carved in hardwood of elongated ovoid form, including a La Grange Bay shield of planoconvex section, the reverse replete with finely engraved interlocking key design motif and cut loop handle, together with a finely carved Dampierland Peninsula shield, the front with bands of fluted designs divided into ten sections to form a zig-zag motif, the bands infilled with white and brown pigment, the reverse with a linear motif running horizontally infilled with white ochre divided by five broad, undecorated bands and cut lug handle, and another early example with engraved zig-zag motif divided into seventeen sections, each band infilled alternately in encrusted white and brown pigments, the reverse similarly decorated, with loop handle of oval section
Condition
Al three of the shield appear in generally good condition. Two have suffered many areas of pigment loss.
