The photographs were reputedly found in an old can in a shed many years ago, but the identity of the photographer is not known

Condition

The photographs are in good condition and framed behind glass in a contemporary frame. There is slight yellowing to the edges of the photographic paper.

Catalogue Note

The photographs include images of the clan leader (Wonggu) with a man thoughtto be Fred Gray, ceremonial dancing, a boybeing painted with Yirritja moiety designs forinitiation, a hunting party, women with babiesetc. The images were most probably taken in the Umbakumba area
