the sauce tureens each of oval boat form on pedestal foot, bodies and covers partly chased with radiating flutes, engraved with arms, elephant crests and Baron's coronets, Robert Sharp, London, 1789; the candlesticks on oval bases chased with radiating gadroons, with conforming tapered oval stems and vase-form sconces, removable nozzles, weighted, William Abdy, London, 1788, nozzles by Charles Hougham, London, circa 1790
Condition
marks on tureens a little worn, slightly later arms, but overall good condition and nice weight, as noted re nozzles on candlesticks, a little overall wear and engraving probably removed from sconces

Catalogue Note
The arms on the sauce tureens are those of Carrington impaling Boldero-Barnard for Robert Smith, Baron Carrington of Bulcot Lodge, created 11 July 1796 and Baron Carrington of Upton, Co. Nottingham, created 20 October 1797 and his first wife Anne, 1st daughter of Lewyns Boldero-Barnard of Cave Castle, Co. York, whom he married on 6 July 1780. She died 9 February 1827, and he married secondly on 19 January 1836 Charlotte, 3rd daughter of John Hudson of Bessingby, Co. York. He died on 18 September 1838 at age 86.
