on circular partly gadrooned bases, engraved with contemporary arms and crests, tapering cylindrical stems and partly gadrooned campana form sconces, the removable nozzles crested and with shellwork borders, weighted, marked on base rims and nozzles

Catalogue Note
The arms are those of Beach, Netheravon, quartering Hicks and impaling another, probably for William Beach of Oakley Hall, Hants and Keevil House, co Wilts J.P. and D.L., 1783-1856, nephew of Sit William Hicks 7th baronet, took by royal licence in 1790 the surname and arms of Beach on his marriage with Henrietta Maria, only daughter of William Beach of Netheravon. In 1826 he married Jane Henrietta daughter of John Browne of Salperton Park, co Gloucester.
