Variants of this model, possibly based on late 17th century designs by Jean Berain, were produced by London silversmiths such as Charles Kandler and Charles Hatfield in the late 1720's and early 1730's.  The style was revived at the end of the century, as seen in a 1795 set by Robert Sharp made for the Prince Regent for use at Carlton House, and again in the mid 19th century.
