the hinged top opening to candle recesses and counter wells and lined with a needlework panel depicting cards, gaming pieces and a purse.  Losses, restorations, replacements.

Condition

With previous restorations and in need of further restoration, top with age cracks and tears to veneers across center and sides along lines of construction to boards underneath, losses and replacements to edge, interior needlework with losses throughout, later border, dry and tears along hingeline, losses to veneers of counter wells and borders, lifting to veneers of frieze with areas of fading flanking frieze drawer, concertina action with replacements to inner-framing at back and with later hinges, lacking one bracket to back right leg, losses to linings of frieze drawer, left front foot with patch to pad.
