- Counter-Balance Table Lamp
shade engraved L.C.T.
base stamped TIFFANY STUDIOS/NEW YORK- patinated bronze and favrile glass
Condition
Generally very good overall condition. The shade is in overall good condition and has a rich lustrous color. The fitter has two chips, one of which is approximately ½ inch x ½ inch but is not overtly apparent when the lamp is fitted into the base. The rim of the shade has a small chip that is confined mostly to the interior of the shade and does not read from the exterior. There is also one other minute rim scuff which reads as a very small white mark to the green favrile surface. One of the screw pins is fixed in position and does not turn, but the others adjust to hold the shade firmly in place. The switch and socket are replaced, but the rayon finished cord and plug appear to be original. There is some rubbing and verdigris to the patina as expected from age and use. Two of the turtleback tiles have edge chips, one of which has two surface cracks which read as a flaking to the glass. There are two minor surface dents to the underside weight.
