Condition

There is canvas laid down on board around the edges of the composition. There is an area of horizontal surface craquelure along the grain of the board above the bright yellow pigment to the centre right of the composition. There is some further minor surface craquelure in the centre of the composition and around the red pigments on the left where the grain of the board is also visible and some other minor scattered areas of surface craquelure otherwise in good original condition. Under ultraviolet light, there are several areas which flouresce however, these appear to be an uneven varnish and the different properties of the pigments. Held in a plaster gilt and painted frame.
