There is a minor spot of staining in the upper left corner which is perhaps rust residue from an old pin hole. Otherwise the work appears to be in good condition. Under glass and held in a gilt wood and plaster frame with a green decorative silk boarder. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals spots of retouching to the boy's upper shoulder and to the lower and upper left edges.
