Provenance

Acquired directly from the artist by the present owner through an introduction by Sir Terry Frost, 1973

Condition

The canvas is in good original condition. There are some tiny spots of paint separation in the black paint in the upper right and lower left quadrants. Some dirt has gathered in areas across the paint surface but otherwise it is in good overall condition. Examination under ultra-violet light reveals areas of fluorescence in the upper and lower right quadrants. This appears to be where the artist has reworked the painting. Held in a simple wooden rectilinear frame. Please telephone the department on 020 7293 5381 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
