Condition

The canvas is original. There is some surface dirt. Otherwise in good overall condition. Ultra violet light reveals some spots of retouching to the lower left corner and around the spout of the jug. Held in a painted wooden frame.

This work was painted c. 1923-24 and is one of a series of dark-toned still lifes, often including lamps and earthenware jugs.
