Description

  • Prunella Clough
  • cord 2
  • signed on the reverse
  • oil and sand on canvas
  • 70 by 55cm.; 27½ by 21¾in.

Provenance

Annely Juda Fine Art, London, from whence purchased by the present owner in September 1999

Condition

There are artists pinholes towards the edges of the work, although these were probably caused by the artist during the creation of the work. The surface of the work is slightly dirty and would benefit from a professional clean. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a large patch of retouching directly above the cord. There are further individual patches of retouching leading from the centre of the work to the upper edge. These may well have been later re-workings by the artist herself.
