Condition

The work appears to be in good overall condition. Under glass and held in a gilt wood and plaster frame with hessian slip. Unexamined out of its frame. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals spots of retouching within the sky and the left of the road.

Catalogue Note

Depicted is a view of Nelson Place, 'a steep hill from London Road down to the river Avon. The top section now a private road housing a furniture warehouse; the lower section has been redeveloped. The steeple in the background belongs to St. John Baptist Church across the Avon'.
