Work on original canvas. From a first hand inspection there are some vertical craquelures in the lower right-hand side of the road. There are some little losses due to a knock cm 3 from the right-hand edge over the rocks. The ultra violet light reveals a light fluorescent varnish homogeneously spread over the surface. There are some darker fluorescence due to an esthetic retouch done with a green pigment over the right-hand top side leaves, the tree in the middle and other in the central area of the wall in the lower part of the painting and over the leaves on its left side. The inscription Taormina was reinforced. It is suggested a careful cleansing to give the correct perspective. The overall condition as to the state of preservation is good.
