Condition
Work on original canvas.
From a first hand inspection there is a tiny small hole on the right-hand side of the signature and two yellowish stains over the top of the mountain, these are also visible from the picture in the catalogue. Moreover , over the mountain, there are some craquelure where the pigments are thicker.
The ultra violet light reveals fluorescent varnish dishomogeneously spread over the surface. There are there retouches over the clouds on the left-hand side and two near the top edge on the right. Moreover there are aesthetic retouches over the clouds.
It is suggested a careful cleansing.
The overall condition as to the state of preservation is good.
