Condition

Some foxing stains visible througout. The sheet is loose with remains of old newspaper (circa 2 cm. broad) glued along all edges on the reverse. Examined out of the frame.

Willem Witsen worked in London from October 1888 till January 1891. This watercolour can be compared to an etching of the same subject, titled 'Cab', illustrated in The etched work of Willem Witsen, published by E.J. van Wisselingh & Co, Amsterdam, no. 435 on p. 48.
