A carved ivory crucifix French, late 19th century

the figure set on a silvered, gilt and lapis lazuli mounted ebony cross. 

The gilding to the silvered mounts has nearly all disappeared. Each mount with extensive tarnishing. Both seams to Christ's arms are visible and filled with dirt. The inscription INRI is faded. There is a chip to the black marble molded ege of the hexagonal base. One corner edge of the lapis lazuli inlay with traces of repair, now filled with a resin. Minor chips to lapis lazuli around base. Please note this lot contains endangered species and a CITES permit will be necessary for export. Please contact the department with any questions.
