Condition

Age cracks visible to turtle and beneath the shell now filled with dirt and visible. All joints to each part are also visible with minor spaces between them consistent with shrinkage. The putti surmounting the shell with one loop lacking from the bow tied at his side. Movement to the back of the shell on the turtle. Two tips of leaves from the back of the nautilus are broken and lacking. As visible in the catalogue illustration, the joints are visible and filled with dirt around the base. The piece is steady but parts twist at joints and will need to be tightened. Please note this lot contains endangered species and a CITES permit will be necessary for export.
