  • height 41 1/2 in.; width 5 ft. 10 1/2 in.; depth 25 in.
  • 105.5 cm; 178.5 cm; 63.5 cm
comprising a settee, two armchairs and two side chairs, all chairs with eighteenth century personnages on the backrests and Jean de la Fontaine fable scenes on the seats.

Condition

Overall in good condition. The carved giltwood with the usual losses to gilding now showing gesso in places. Tapestries are still in good condition with some wear to the seats but with the original vibrant colors. Usual wear to padded armrests. Please note that one armchair has a loose arm with a visible crack to the joint where it meants the frame. Another armchair with visible crack and movement to the joint of the upper part of the backrest where it joins the vertical frame. The settee also with movement and visible cracks to joints. All will need to be strengthened back by a professional restorer.
