A large gilt and silvered bronze mounted porcelain casket Possibly German, circa 1875-80

the hinged lid surmounted by a female figure with a treasure chest reclining on a lion pelt, set to the four corners with lion masks and opening to a blue velvet interior, the front with female term figures holding floral and shell garlands, the yellow and cream ground porcelain plaques with raised gilt decoration and each painted with eighteenth century courtesans.  Original key.   

Tarnishing to silvered and gilt- bronze. The female surmounting the lid lacking attribute once held in her right hand. The female figures on the front will need to be re-tightened. The gilt bronze has been re-varnished and bears the usual areas of tarnishing and scratches throughout.
