the lid surmounted by Cupid playing a violin, the body carved in the round with a relief depicting Greek mythological figures including Hercules, Chiron and the Young, Achilles, Orpheus and Castor and Pollux.
Condition
Overall in good condition with the usual traces of age cracks and dirt. There is a chip to the hat of the male figure surmounting the handle. The silver metal with tarnishing and wear in places and minor dents.
