The probable attribution to a Leon Messagé design on the present model is strongly based on a wing in the elaborate rock-work decoration.  It has recently been discovered and accepted that Leon Messagé cleverly integrated this symbol as his signature in many of his works, as his surname translates directly in English as messenger.
