fitted with three convex small drawers above a roll top opening to a writing slide, five open compartments and two small drawers, the frieze with three drawers.
Condition
Overall in good condition with the usual minor scratches, dents and nicks consistent with age and use. Slight tarnishing to gilt-bronze in places. The central upper drawer with a break to mahogany which has later been reglued and now shows restoration crack. The writing slide moves from left to right and does not slide properly most probably due to carcass movement and shrinkage. Some mounts will need to be tightened and re-mounted. The convex upper part will need to be re-glued to the desk as it is held only with pegs at this time.
