Catalogue Note

It is interesting to put in parallel the present model and the 18th century one illustrated in Payne, p. 202. Both in the neo-classical form and fitted with the four seasons to the front, the 18th century original by Oeben bears decorative variations and was listed in his 1763 inventory. Linke reproduced the Oeben model twice.
