each surmounted by a lidded cover with fruiting finial and raised on three classicaly draped female joined by floral garlands, sigend henry Dasson, 1884 to each of the concave tripartitebase.
Condition
Overall good condition. Some minor chips and losses to painted green surface. Some areas regilt. Overall with the usual old scratches and minor wear consistent with age and use. One finial to lid is detached and will need to be remounted. Repair to one vertical garland below bowl showing now a soldering area of approximately one inch high which has been painted with gold colored spray paint. One garland to the same brule-parfum is broken also below the bowl and shows traces of glue. Some oxidation to gilding in places.

The present model is directly drawn from designs by François Rémond. A pair of candelabra with similar caryatid to the one on the present lot is in The Royal collection at Windsor Castle.
