Condition
Overall in good condition with the usual minor scratches, wear and discoloration to surface being consistent with age and use. Minor dents and nicks in places to surface. Slight traces of dirt. Restoration to one figure to one hand showing cracks to all fingers. Both sculptures were exhibited outside in the middle of a fountain. Surface is weathered.

Catalogue Note
The figure illustrated on the left is a copy of one attributed to Etienne Falconet, made circa 1757, a version of which is now in the permanent collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. The other is a copy of Vénus sortant du bain by Christophe-Gabriel Allegrain, executed in 1767, and comissioned by the Marquis de Marigny for the Château de Choisy-le-Roi, and now in the permanent collection of the Musée du Louvre.
