the case in fan shape opening to a painted lacquer interior with a scene of a seated Japonese farmer in a landscape, with compartments for a quill, ink and sand, the underside inscribed B.H.L. & L.B.M / Nov. 15, 1941.
Condition
Overall in good condition. Traces of dirt to carved ivory. Minor scratches to quill department resulting in loss of lacquer. The gilt bronze tarnished.
