Overall the condition of the bust and the column are in very good condition. There is minor dirt and wear consistent with age. There are minor chips to the edge of the truncation and on the column. There is some minor red paint on the column's decoration and some green pigmentation to the surface of the column.

Catalogue Note
One version of this bust was made for Mrs. Burns of North Mymms Park, the sister of J.P. Morgan, while a bronze version was exhibited at the Grosvenor Gallery in 1885.
