Condition
STRUCTURE:
On a prepared canvas by Charles Roberson.
SURFACE:
Stretcher lines are visible on the left side. Fine surface craquelure appears in areas but mainly in the centre of the sky. The surface is dirty and would benefit from cleaning.
There is some evidence of paint starting to lift in the sky on the left side and just above the mountains on the right hand side.
UV LIGHT:
Under UV light sweeping restorations appears on the right hand side in the sky. Some minor areas elsewhere in the sky.
FRAME:
Contained in a plaster moulded frame.
COLOUR COMPARISON:
The original appears more yellow than the catalogue illustration appears.
