Catalogue Note

"Father José Rodrigues was the author of this biography. Pages 161 to the end contain the 'Notae quaedam historicae et animadversiones ad vitam venerab. P. Correae' which were not, however, written by him. They are very interesting, particularly that on the biography of Father José de Santa Rita Durao, in which it is asserted that he was the ghostwriter for D. Joao, bishop of Leiria, of a pastoral letter against the Jesuits, and gives other details about the poet" (Borba de Moraes).
