Description

  • 26cm., 10¼in.
the flared bowl decorated with four panels enclosing allegories including one of friendship with inscriptions, flanked by putti, strapwork, birds on ledges, floral festoons, fruit and scrollwork, the base cut with facets over an hexagonal inverted baluster, the conical foot engraved with formal scroll, the pontil engraved with a monogram PVO(?) below a coronet, the associated domed cover with faceted finial 

Condition

As mentioned in the catalogue, there are some tiny shallow chips to the rim, of which two measure 30mm. These are not so visible as they blend with the polished dot highlights within the decorative band. Otherwise, both the goblet and the cover are generally in good condition.
