Description
- probably German, circa 1760
- width 8.2cm, 3 1/4 in
rectangular, the lid carved with Atalanta and Meleager, the side panels with hounds and stags, reeded and scrolly cagework mounts
Condition
The mounts are loose and need re-attached (the lid mount will come completely loose of side corner mounts if pulled). The mother of pearl plaques are in excellent condition, save for a tiny corner loss to rear plaue, and are very well-carved, crisp and lively. Some silver polish residue in need of cleaning. This is an especially nice example of its type.
