Catalogue Note
One of the boxes is inscribed: A Trifle from Fulneck. Fulneck, near Pudsey, is situated between Leeds and Bradford in West Yorkshire. From the middle of the 18th century, it had been one of the largest settlements of the Moravian community in England and a model village. Presumably it was a tourist attraction and therefore in need of souvenirs such as this.
