- sceptre-mark in underglaze-blue, dash in blue, various impressed numbers
Campanerform, decorated with four medallions enclosing a burning flame and two billing doves within a gilt frame on a white marbled ground, the central medallion of the saucers and two of the cartouches on each cup with hardstone ground, each enclosing a putto in a chariot drawn by butterflies and birds and the motto 'il va en croissant' and 'l'inconstance l'entraine' in gold script against a beige drapery
Condition
One saucer with two very small areas of rubbing to the gilt ground, and a further, smaller and narrower spot of wear, around the edge of the well where the cup stands.
The second saucer with four small areas of rubbing to gilt well, and a few further minor scuffs, where the cup stands.
Haircrack across base of one cup handle.
Otherwise in good condition.
