A large serving table, James I style, 18th century

carved oak, with cleated and divided triple plank top, the three drawers with carved flower heads, on six stop fluted tapering columnar legs with Ionic capitals, including some 17th century elements

Fair and of impressive stature. The top with pronounced separations, splits, fragmenting and knotting. This includes the cleated borders. One long cleated border with old fracture near to one corner. There is some patching on the top. Two of the drawers with a lot of timber losses on the top front edges of the drawer fronts and one of these drawers is now lacking handles. The right side frieze return is loose and with some fractured timber. The opposing frieze also with some fragmenting. Legs complete. Undertier with separations and splits. This table with a lot of wear, abbrasions and rubbed details throughout.
