with an octagonal top, above a frieze drawer, on turned tapering legs joined by an X-form stretcher with a turned finial, on flattened bun feet

This `table en cabaret' reflects the multi-functional aspect of furniture in that it was made for both ornamental and utilitarian purposes. The top was used for the placement of a tea or coffee service and was also used for card games which can be seen in contemporary engravings and paintings
