A chandelier Empire, first quarter 19th century

gilt-bronze and painted tôle, the central reservoir with a flaming finial supporting four flaming candle-nozzles  terminating in acanthus, the underside cast with stylised foliage and berries, with a pinecone finial

Lot 20 Colour of the tôle more olive green and slightly lighter and gilding more golden and attractive than in photo. The piece is a bit dirty especially the gilt-bronze and would benefit from a light clean according to taste. The nozzles and piece generally show evidence of previously having been drilled for electricity but the holes in the nozzles have been filled. Evidence of resoldering of one of the stylised foliate motifs supporting a chain but this is only visible from the back. In overall good condition.
