A press cupboard on chest, Dutch, 18th century

'Mulberry wood', with highly figured and treated maple veneers, the pair of doors with geometric patterns to both the exterior and the interior and with conforming sides to the upper section, the interior with two shelves and five small drawers

Of impressive appearance but tired and in need of work shop attention. There are numerous repairs to the veneers. The cornice is tidy. The pair of doors poor with partial splittings and some filler. Some chipping to the apron of the upper section. The lower section with partial mouldings lacking from the drawer surrounds and some re-applied. Repairs on top front corner mouldings and one front corner moulding partially lacking. The interior with chipped veneer to fittings and handles partially lacking to the interior. The boards that form the back of this lot are loose and detached. The reverse of the doors with splitting. There is fragmenting on the hinge sites. The sides of this lot are generally tidy although there is a typical split on the base section of the left side.
