gilt bronze and brass mounted thuyawood, of rectangular form with a reeded foliate cast handle on anthemion cast reeded flaring baluster supports, the top with seven apertures with plaques engraved with the days of the week in French, headed by a plaque engraved with 'Semainiere', the front with an oval lock-plate, the base with a leaf cast bronze border

Colour overall less orange, more natural and attractive than in the photograph. The top right hand corner is now missing a small section of veneer and the key is missing.The casting of the handle and generally is of good quality. The gilding on the plaques is slightly rubbed. An unusual and attractive lot in otherwise very good condition.
