mahogany and later inlaid,  with chequer stringing and conch shell decoration

Condition

Of smart appearance. In original form with the interior fitted to accomodate the former cutlery that is now lacking. Closer inspection shows one example with some repairs on the reverse around the hinge sites. This example with a partial split on the left side of the lid and some old repair to the rear of the right side. There is some base bead moulding on the rear left corner. The other example with repair on the left side. Some old separations on the back.
