palo, constituée d'un assemblage de longues bandes de coton tissé, cousues bord à bord pour former un grand pagne rectangulaire. Une bande rouge à fils de trame supplémentaire décore une des bordures. Teintés à l'indigo foncé, les fils de coton dessinent un motif en damier sur fond clair caractéristique, alternant un décor de chevrons et de losanges.
Ce pagne traditionnel était porté exclusivement par les épouses ou les sœurs des hommes influents.

Condition
Good condition overall. Wear consistent with age and use within the culture.
Some minor restoration in matching indigo thread to several small areas. The textile is secured to a backing cloth which is fitted on a wooden stretcher. The last cotton band is faded, as evidenced by the catalogue illustration (shown at right). Some minor old dark patches, as evidenced by the catalogue illustration.
