a. nkumbu, composée d'une calotte conique en fibres végétales tressées entièrement recouverte de boutons agencés en motifs géométriques polychromes. Elle est surmontée d'une touffe de crins d'éléphant ornée de perles et de coquillages cauris.
Son port était exclusivement réservé aux initiés les plus haut gradés de la société Bwami.
b. calotte conique, en fibres végétales tressées, partiellement recouverte d'un mélange de poudre de bois de campèche et d'huile, décorée de coquilles Saint-Jacques, de moules d'eau douce polies et d'huître, la jugulaire en fibres tressées cousue de boutons blanc. Belle patine d'usage.

Good condition overall. Wear consistent with age and use within the culture.

61B: Woven plant fibre structure slightly warped. Minor old loss to shell edges, a small section of plant fibre on the chin strap slightly frayed, approximately 2cm.
