Le fourreau, d'un grand raffinement, est composé de deux plaques, l'une en bois, l'autre en ivoire, maintenues par une ligature de fils de laiton tressés. Le décor en damier de chevrons, se détachant sur le fond clair de l'ivoire, se prolonge sur le pommeau conique. Belle patine crème nuancée de l'ivoire.

Condition
Good condition overall. Wear consistent with age and use within the culture.
Dagger: Blade well worn. Two minor losses to finial above hilt, the longest of which is approximately 1.3cm long.
Sheath: plaited copper wire loose at end (top and bottom binding). The back of the element at tip slightly cracked around indigenous nail. A small fleck of white commercial paint (?) next to nail.
