A native of Oxford, Turner served as pro at a number of English courses. The "Miralite" material insert in his "Peggy" club was designed to make the iron more toe to heel weighted, while the use of wooden pegs was method of providing the golfer with the feel of a wood. Turner abandoned his patent for this attractive looking club, making it rare. Three examples are known.
